Sunday, March 8th, we had a great turnout for the Blue and Gold Ceremony and Arrow of Light Ceremony. The evening started off with the awarding of rank badges to all of the dens and the announcement that Pack 1115 received the Quality Unit Award for the third year in a row. We were then rewarded with a heartfelt video presentation highlighting the Webelos that were crossing over to Boy Scouts.
Then it was on to the Arrow of Light Ceremony. The Arrow of Light Award is the highest rank in Cub Scouting. By the time he has earned the Arrow of Light Award, he will have learned many things about a lot of subjects - and a lot about Boy Scouting. He will be ready to join a Boy Scout troop. The boys were called up with their parents and they AND their parents were honored with the Arrow of Light.
The Crossover Ceremony is the official transition point for Webelos to become Boy Scouts. The Ceremony begins with the Cub Master offering their last Cub Scout handshake. Then the boys cross over the bridge where they receive the Boy Scout handshake. Their Webelo neckerchief and slide were then removed and they were replaced with their new troop neckerchiefs and Boy Scout slides from representatives from the Boy Scout troop they were crossing over to.
We are very proud of each and every one of the sixteen Webelos that are now Boy Scouts!
